Hey Padel Players

The padel world never sleeps, and 2024 has been a rollercoaster ride for pro partnerships! Several power couples have called it quits, leaving fans wondering "what went wrong?" But fret not, padel peeps, because these breakups have also paved the way for some new pairings to emerge!

Farewell to Familiar Faces

  • 👭Gemma Triay & Marta Ortega: This iconic duo dominated the women's circuit for years. They made history by securing the first title in the history of women’s Premier Padel after defeating some of the world’s best players.

Their victory was marked by passionate duels and a magical atmosphere at the Foro Italico. However, despite their successful partnership, they officially announced their split two months ago, on the 6th of February 2024.

Despite the gossiping and the speculation about potential disagreements and dissatisfaction with their performance, both players have stated that they decided to part ways based on a mutual desire for change and improvement in their professional careers.

Gemma Triay is now teaming up with Claudia Fernández and Marta Ortega has found a new partner in Veronica Virseda.

  • 👬Juan Lebrón & Ale Galán: This legendary partnership was a force to be reckoned with. They formed a formidable pair in the world of padel, marked by skill, strategy, and remarkable performances on the court.

Together, they secured numerous titles, making them one of the most successful pairs in the sport. Their chemistry and complementary playing styles contributed to their dominance.

However, after the Qatar Major 2024, their partnership took an unexpected turn. During the match against Javier Garrido and Miguel Yanguas, Lebrón appeared particularly tense, and lost his temper.

Lebrón expressed deep regret over his behaviour during the tournament, acknowledging that it did not reflect his true self and he publicly apologised to Galán, their team, fans, and opponents.

Lebrón's behaviour may have influenced Galen's decision to split for not being satisfied with the dynamics of the pair. The breakup was announced on the 7th of March 2024.

Ale Galán's new partner is Federico Chingotto and Juan Lebrón teamed up with Paquito Navarro.
